Sycamore is a drawing made by Arthur Dove in 1935. Dove was an American artist, often considered the first American abstract painter, and he worked across a wide range of media to create abstractions and abstract landscapes. The title points to a tree as the starting point, and a viewer can approach the work as an invitation to look for nature within simplified, distilled form. The drawing is part of the Alfred Stieglitz Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Arthur Dove was an American artist and an early American modernist, often considered the first American abstract painter. He worked in a wide range of media, sometimes combining them in unconventional ways, to create abstractions and abstract landscapes. He also made experimental collages in the 1920s, and Me and the Moon, from 1937, is a fine example of his landscapes.
