About this artwork

Plinio Colombi designed this poster in 1914 to advertise the Swiss national exhibition held in Bern, known in German as the Schweizerische Landesausstellung. It belongs to the tradition of Swiss exhibition posters, and its connection to the Alps is clear: the Jungfrau is part of its subject. Today it offers a clear glimpse of how Switzerland presented itself to visitors on the eve of the First World War, with the mountains playing their part in that picture.

On your wall: Its Alpine subject and vintage poster character suit a hallway, study or living room, especially where Swiss themes or period graphic design are already part of the decor.
