About this artwork
Bergwinter, painted by Plinio Colombi in 1933, shows a snowy alpine landscape. Bare trees cast long blue shadows over the snow, and a small hut sits in the scene, with snow-covered mountains rising behind. It is an oil painting on canvas, and the artist signed it with his name and the year. The cool blues and whites give the view a calm, wintry stillness, and the subject places it among Swiss mountain landscapes. The painting is held in the Aargauer Kunsthaus.
On your wall: The cool blues and whites suit calm spaces such as a living room, hallway, study or bedroom, especially where a touch of alpine winter would be welcome.
