Roger Broders made this poster in 1927 to advertise a temporary exhibition at Maisons-Laffitte. It shows the Château de Maisons-Laffitte framed by trees, with lettering announcing an exhibition of 17th-century Italian drawings. It was produced as a lithograph, and printed in Paris by Lucien Serre & Cie. Broders is best known for his travel posters, and the same clear, poster-like approach to a place can be felt here, though this one invites visitors to an exhibition rather than a holiday destination.
On your wall: Its château and tree-framed composition suit a hallway, study or living room, especially where French graphic design or a vintage poster collection is already part of the look.
