Amelia

Amelia is the artist name of Amal ElGammal, an international artist and interior designer from Alexandria, Egypt. Her work moves between portraits, sculpture, murals, stained glass and hand-bound books.

Her Nubia series is inspired by Upper Egypt's Nubia and the desert Bedouin, and was last shown with the Horus Association in Paris. Her book art, which builds new images from ancient Egyptian art and poetry, was exhibited in Amsterdam from 2009 to 2013.

From 2000 to 2003 she managed textile print production for the artist Bernard Remusat in Marseille, and in 2011 she mentored ten young artists exhibiting with the Kasr El Tefl Association in Cairo.
