Louis Marcoussis

Louis Marcoussis was a Polish-French avant-garde painter who worked mainly in Paris. He studied law in Warsaw, then attended the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts before moving to Paris to study under Jules Lefebvre at the Académie Julian. He first exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1905 and moved in circles of artists and writers in Montmartre and Montparnasse.
