This is a 1912 poster by Plinio Colombi for the Bremgarten-Dietikon-Bahn, a Swiss railway company. It belongs to the tradition of early twentieth-century rail and tourism advertising in Switzerland, when posters invited people to travel and discover the countryside by train. The subject connects to the Eisenbahnbrücke at Bremgarten, the railway bridge associated with the line. Colombi's poster is a good example of how travel was promoted in Switzerland at the time, and it carries the look of its era.
On your wall: It suits a hallway, study or living room where a vintage travel poster adds character, and it sits well alongside other railway or Swiss-themed prints.
