About this artwork

Medway is a printed textile designed by William Morris in 1885, made for cotton and linen. The image shows the fabric up close, so the repeating floral pattern can be studied in detail. Morris was a leading figure in the British Arts and Crafts movement and helped revive traditional British textile arts and methods of production. Medway belongs to that body of work, where pattern and printed cloth are closely linked.

On your wall: Its floral pattern suits living rooms, bedrooms and hallways, especially in homes that favour traditional or Arts and Crafts-inspired interiors.
