A 1921 railway poster by Roger Broders, inviting travellers to Rome aboard the Rome Express luxury train.

Roger Broders made this travel poster in 1921 for the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée railway company. It promotes the Rome Express, a luxury train, and the title presents Rome as the destination. The Colosseum and the Arch of Titus appear in the image, so the city's ancient monuments are part of the invitation. Broders was a French illustrator best known for travel posters, and this one belongs to that tradition of advertising journeys through striking, clearly drawn scenes.
On your wall: Its Roman landmarks and vintage advertising style suit a study, hallway or living room, particularly where travel or period design is already part of the décor.
