This is a theatre poster by Alphonse Mucha, dated 1897, for Edmond Rostand's play La Samaritaine. It presents Sarah Bernhardt in the production, so it works as a portrait of the actress as well as an advertisement for the stage. Mucha lived in Paris during the Art Nouveau period and was known for his stylised, decorative posters, particularly those made for Bernhardt. This one belongs to that body of work, and it also appears in the series Les maîtres de l'affiche.
On your wall: It would suit a study, sitting room or hallway with a taste for vintage posters, and it pairs well with period furniture or books on the theatre.
