About this artwork

Flirt was designed by Alphonse Mucha in 1900 as an advertising panel for Lefèvre-Utile biscuits. It is a colour lithograph on card, signed 'Mucha' in the lower right corner and printed by Champenois. The panel is tall and narrow, measuring 305 by 645 millimetres. Mucha was working in Paris during the Art Nouveau period and was known for his stylised, decorative posters and advertisements. This piece belongs to that body of commercial work, where graphic design and everyday products met. The original is held in the poster collection of Museum Vleeshuis, kept at the Letterenhuis.

On your wall: Its tall, narrow format suits a hallway, a slim stretch of wall or a kitchen corner, and it sits well in rooms with a retro or vintage feel.
