Boccioni was a leading figure of Futurism, and this painting shows his interest in movement and the breaking up of solid form. Heads and faces appear as blue-green facets, cut across by long diagonal streaks that pull the eye along the canvas. The numerals I and III can be seen within the composition. It is painted in oil on canvas, and the work is held in the Museum of Modern Art.
On your wall: Its cool blue-green tones and strong diagonals suit a modern living room, a study or a hallway where the sense of movement can stand out.

Umberto Boccioni was an Italian painter and sculptor, and one of the principal figures of Futurism, helping to shape the movement's radical outlook. His work is known for its sense of dynamism in form and its breaking apart of solid mass. Though his life was short, his ideas guided other artists long afterwards.
