Klee's Rose Garden, from 1920, is built from pink, red and mauve houses and terraces arranged in a loosely cubist way. Among them, roses drawn as small spirals rise on green stems, giving the geometric scene a gentle, playful note. The work is made with oil paint on paper, and Klee's signature sits at the right. It belongs to the Lenbachhaus collection and is generally described as abstract art. Klee was a Swiss-born German artist whose individual style drew on expressionism, cubism and surrealism.
On your wall: Its warm pinks, reds and mauves, softened by touches of green, would suit a living room, a study or a bedroom that welcomes some colour and pattern.

Text based on Lenbachhaus.
Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist whose style was entirely his own. Over his career he drew on several movements, including expressionism, cubism and surrealism, and blended these influences into work that remains unmistakably his. For a Swiss customer, there is something pleasing in seeing a compatriot's imagination so distinctively at play.
