About this artwork

Franz Marc painted Grazing Horses I in 1910, using oil paint on canvas. As the title says, the subject is horses at pasture, and the horse is the animal that stands at the centre of the picture. The work belongs to Expressionism, the movement in which Marc was a key German figure, and he was also a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter. Today the painting is held in the Lenbachhaus.

On your wall: Its horse subject and Expressionist character suit a living room, study or hallway where you want a modern, abstract piece with a natural theme.
