This is a poster from 1888 advertising the Orient Express, designed by Jules Chéret. Chéret was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of Belle Époque poster art, and he has been called the father of the modern poster. Here his skill is applied to the glamour of long-distance rail travel, in the form of a promotional sheet from the late nineteenth century. It suits anyone who enjoys vintage travel advertising and the graphic spirit of the period.
On your wall: A good fit for studies, hallways and living rooms, especially where vintage travel posters or a retro, well-travelled atmosphere are part of the look.
