Cézanne's landscape looks towards Mont Sainte-Victoire, which rises above the orange rock walls of the Bibémus quarry. Pine trees stand in the foreground, framing the view. The painting is in oil on canvas, and the warm tones of the rock set against the distant mountain give the scene its character. Cézanne is often described as a bridge between Impressionism and the Cubism that followed, and a landscape like this shows how he looked at the natural world.
On your wall: The warm orange and green tones suit a living room, study or hallway, particularly where you'd like a calm, natural landscape on the wall.

Paul Cézanne was a French Post-Impressionist painter. His work brought new ways of representing the world on canvas, and it influenced the avant-garde movements of the early twentieth century. He is often seen as a bridge between the Impressionism of the late nineteenth century and the Cubism that followed it.
