Charles Demuth painted this work in 1928 as a homage to Gertrude Stein, and its title repeats a single word three times, almost like a refrain. Demuth was an American artist who worked mainly in watercolour before turning to oils later in his career, and who became associated with Precisionism, a style of crisp, ordered painting. Today the picture belongs to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum collection. It suits anyone who enjoys art where words and ideas are part of the image.
On your wall: Its modern, abstract character suits a study, a living room or a hallway, especially where you want a piece that sparks conversation.

Charles Henry Buckius Demuth was an American painter best known for his watercolours. Later in his career he turned to oils, and in them he helped shape the style called Precisionism. Amelia's customers who enjoy clean, carefully ordered pictures may find his approach worth exploring, and it rewards a closer look.
