Archangel is an abstract work painted by Paul Klee in 1938. Klee was born in Switzerland and worked in Germany, and his individual style drew on expressionism, cubism and surrealism. This painting is in oil paint and belongs to the collection of the Lenbachhaus, where it is also held. The title suggests a celestial figure, though the abstract approach leaves room for you to find your own way into the image.
On your wall: Its abstract character suits modern living rooms, studies and calm hallways, where it can be a quiet point of interest.

Text based on Lenbachhaus.
Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist whose style was entirely his own. Over his career he drew on several movements, including expressionism, cubism and surrealism, and blended these influences into work that remains unmistakably his. For a Swiss customer, there is something pleasing in seeing a compatriot's imagination so distinctively at play.
