About this artwork

The title tells us this is a mountain landscape with houses, and Jawlensky painted it in 1912 in oil on canvas. He was a Russian expressionist painter who worked in Germany and belonged to the New Munich Artist's Association and Der Blaue Reiter, and later to Die Blaue Vier. His work sits comfortably within the modern and abstract spirit of our collection.

On your wall: A landscape with houses suits a living room, study or hallway, where it can bring a modern, expressive view of the mountains into the space.
