This is a poster made in 1913 for the Jungmühle in Dortmund, designed by Ludwig Hohlwein and produced as a screen print. Hohlwein was a German poster artist who trained and worked as an architect in Munich before turning to poster design, and he is counted among the pioneers of the Sachplakat style. The work belongs to the early years of commercial poster art in Germany, when a single striking image on a wall could carry a business's name into the street.
On your wall: It suits a study, hallway, kitchen or dining area where a retro poster adds a historical, graphic note to the walls.
