Morning in a Pine Forest is an oil painting on canvas, now in the Tretyakov Gallery. It shows a stretch of forest with undergrowth, tall trees and a windthrow of fallen trunks, and a bear family moving through the scene. The work was originally known as The Bear Family in the Forest. It is credited to two Russian artists, Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky. Shishkin was best known for his landscapes, and this is a landscape in which the forest itself is the main subject.
On your wall: Its woodland subject and natural setting suit a study, living room or hallway, particularly where you want a calm, nature-inspired note on the wall.
