Julius Klinger's 1912 poster for Müller Extra pairs a martini glass with the profile of a grinning bald man, with the name of the product set out in lettering beside them. It is a lithograph on paper, a process well suited to poster work. The image is direct and playful, and the lettering is part of the design rather than an afterthought. Klinger signed the work himself. Today the original belongs to the Poster Museum at Wilanów.
On your wall: It suits a kitchen, dining room, home bar or study, where its humour and graphic character can stand out on a wall.

He trained at the Technologisches Gewerbemuseum HTL in Vienna. That mix of drawing, design and lettering shaped a career centred on the visual language of graphic art.
