About this artwork

This is a poster from 1931 by Burkhard Mangold, made for the Sommercasino in Basel. It belongs to the body of Swiss poster work from that year and carries the name of Wassermann AG. The title tells us its purpose: to announce the Sommercasino to the people of Basel. It is a good example of the commercial graphic design that filled the city's streets in the early 1930s.

On your wall: A fitting choice for a living room, study or hallway, especially where a retro or vintage poster look is welcome, and for anyone with a connection to Basel.
