Emil Cardinaux, 1915
A 1915 railway poster by Emil Cardinaux, inviting you up to Arosa in the Swiss Alps by way of the Chur-Arosa line.
No VAT charged. Free delivery in Switzerland from CHF 99. Delivery details
This is a 1915 poster by Emil Cardinaux for the Chur-Arosa railway, the line serving Arosa, which was promoted as an air-cure resort. It belongs to the tradition of Swiss tourism and rail advertising, where posters invited travellers to the Alps. The poster carries the name of Wolfensberger, whose name is linked with it. Cardinaux made many posters of this kind, and this one gives a clear sense of how mountain travel was presented to the public in the years around 1915.
On your wall: It suits a hallway, study or living room, and will sit well with other travel posters or in a home with an Alpine or railway theme.
