About this artwork

Evolution, No. 13 was painted by Hilma af Klint in 1908 and belongs to Group VI. It is part of The Paintings for the Temple, her larger body of work. Af Klint was a Swedish artist and mystic, and her paintings are counted among the first major abstract works in Western art. Much of what she made came before the first purely abstract compositions by Kandinsky, Malevich and Mondrian. Her work often resembles diagrams, giving visual form to complex spiritual ideas.

On your wall: An abstract piece with a thoughtful, diagram-like character, it suits studies, living rooms and reading corners where a modern, contemplative accent is welcome.
