About this artwork

Tableau no.I was painted by Piet Mondrian in 1914, in oil on canvas, and belongs to the tradition of abstract art. Mondrian was a Dutch painter and theorist who moved from figurative painting towards an increasingly abstract style, eventually reducing his language to simple geometric elements. This work dates from that period of change. It is now held at the Kimbell Art Museum, where it can be seen in person.

On your wall: Its abstract, restrained character suits modern and minimalist interiors, such as a calm living room, a study or a hallway where it can be given space.
